| Abstract: | The Jan Davidson Manuscript contains Davidson's typescript of "All Along from Rodo to Hanging Dog", a musical oral history documentary. This screenplay was written by Jan Davidson and Robert F. Landau and was part of an National Endowment for the Arts application. Within "All Along from Rodo to Hanging Dog", Davidson details the history of his home town, Murphy, North Carolina and the surrounding Smokey mountains. |

John Allen "Jan" Davidson, Jr. was born in Murphy, North Carolina in 1948. He obtained a M.A. in English with a minor in Folklore from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was A.B.D. from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He worked as a playwright and was the performer at various festivals.
The Jan Davidson Manuscript consists of two series: Manuscript and Correspondence.
