The Appalachian Crafts and Music Festival was an annual event in Watauga County, North Carolina featuring local and regional craftsmen and musicians. The festivals were held at Appalachian State University's University Hall in 1984 and H'Appy's, currently named Legends, in 1985. Appalachian Studies graduate student Mary Greene organized these festivals. Featured musicians include Jim Thompson, Frank Proffitt, Jr., Glen Bolick, Chickenlips, old time string band Walnut Hill, bluegrass band Timberline, Stanley Hicks. Featured crafts include leatherwork, chair, woodcarvings, quilts, and cornshuck dolls.
This collection is divided into three series: Audiovisual materials, Audio, and Paper.
