Hodges against Watauga County Bank, Johnson County Bank and individual Watauga County citizens.  J. S. Hodges lived in Vilas, North Carolina during the early twentieth century and bank notes represent the years 1912 to 1921.  No other information is available at this time.</abstract>

<p><emph render="italic">J.S. Hodges Bank Notes</emph> contains 40 notes and associated correspondence and 3 deposit slips for J.S. Hodges drawn against Watauga County Bank, Johnson County Bank and individual Watauga County citizens, arranged by loaner chronologically.  Individuals are Ettie Dishman (1917), Ray Hagaman (1919), Smith Hagaman (1914), W.M. Isenhour (1919), W.M. Stout (1920), two from C.F. Thompson (1920), A.C. Trivette (1920), Ed S. Williams (1919), Ed Yarber (1920), two from P.C. Younce (1917, 1919).  In 1995, this collection was found hidden in a glass jar inside the wall of a house being demolished.</p>
