Abstract: The Richard Humphrey Audio-cassettes is made up of seven tapes of a lecture and its transcriptions, typed and in longhand.
The Richard Humphrey Audio-cassettes consists of seven audiocassettes of a lecture Richard Humphrey gave to Carl Ross's history course on 2 September 1988. Much of his information reflects information Humphrey gathered during research from Watauga County, North Carolina pastors and church members.

Biographical Note

Richard Humphrey (b. 1936) taught as a professor of religion at Appalachian State University from 1980 to 1982. He held a special interest in Appalachian religion and religious practices.

Audiocassettes Series contains seven audiocassettes of a lecture given by Richard Humphrey to Carl Ross's history course and of Pat Moran and Cratis Williams' memorial service, chronological. The lecture tapes are numbered #68A, #68B, #71A, #71B, and #71C.
The lecture dates 2 September 1988. Humphrey discusses the religious beliefs and practices of Watauga County church members. These beliefs were gathered during a study conducted by Humphrey and his Appalachian State University students. Within his lecture, he compares results of surveys of nation-wide religious belief and practices to those of his study as well as the national surveys' area results.
