Abstract: The John Regent Letter contains one typed letter dated 186- proposing the creation of a monument for the Battle of Point Pleasant.
This document provides information about the Battle of Point Pleasant, a 1774 battle between confederated Indian Tribes and the Virginia Militia in Point Pleasant, (West) Virginia. The proposal's writer labels this fight "the opening Battle of the Revolutionary War." The Point Pleasant Monument Association was a women's society formed to create a monument for the battle memory.
