Cassie M. Robinson was raised in southwestern North Carolina. She received her Master's degree in Appalachian Studies at Appalachian State University in 2004. After graduation, she worked as the Coordinator of the Liston B. Ramsey Center for Regional Studies at Mars Hill College.
Robinson wrote "Tabernacle Baptist Church: 'The Friendly Little Church by the Road' " for Appalachian Religion course taught by Conrad Ostwalt. It is an enthnographic study with detailed descriptions of the physcial structure and worship styles. It also includes an interview with Pastor Gary Watson. Journal reactions were removed prior to donation. "Community Studies in the Toe River Valley" was written for Patricia Beaver's Anthropology course. This is an analysis of various studies about the Toe River Valley, located in Mitchell and Yancey Counties, North Carolina.
