Collection Overview

Neighborhood Art Collection of Photographs illustrates Appalachian culture through yard art. Photographed are a Confederate flag, a garden, three dilapidated barns, rusted trucks, and waterwheels.

It is likely that an Appalachian State University student took these photographs as part of a class project; however, identification could not be located. The photographs and text are glued onto blue cardboard paper. The text refers to Mrs. Jack Graham as the owner of the waterwheel, which her husband built for a stone grinder. Mrs. Ula Adams is listed as the gardener.
