Belk Library and Information Common will host a reception for the campus community and public in celebration of the Watauga County Historical Society’s recently published book, The Architectural History of Watauga County, North Carolina on Tuesday, November 24 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in room 421 of the Library. The book's creators will be present to discuss the project and copies of the book will be available for purchase. Light refreshments will be available.

The Architectural History of Watauga County, North Carolina is based upon surveys ranging back 30 years to the present, including those undertaken by Appalachian State University’s Center for Appalachian Studies and housed in the W.L. Eury Appalachian Collection. The 356-page volume contains more than 600 illustrations, in color and in black and white, and descriptions of some 300 properties, accompanied by an overview of Watauga county’s diverse architectural heritage.
