Special Collections Hours
Winter Break
Hours, December 19-31, 2011 & January 1-16, 2012
Special Collections will be operating on reduced hours over the University's Winter Break.

Closed Collection (Manuscripts, Archives, and Rare Books): Not available; closed
Open Stacks Hours during Normal School Operation
Please check the calendar for a complete listing of hours and confirm the hours before visiting. In general, Special Collections hours are:
Monday-Thursday: 8 am to 10 pm
Friday: 8 am to 6 pm
Saturday: 12 pm to 6 pm
Sunday: 1 pm to 10 pm
Note: Full-time employees are available to assist patrons from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Student assistants staff the Open Stacks during the remaining hours.
Closed Collection Hours
The Closed Collection is available for use by appointment, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm, except University holidays. While Special Collections staff will make every effort to be available for appointments during these hours, please note that due to limited staffing there may be instances when we are unable to accommodate appointments during these times. To make an appointment please contact us at 828-262-7974 or spcoll@appstate.edu. It is highly recommended that researchers who will be traveling to use the collections make an appointment at least one week in advance and speak to Dougherty Reading Room staff before visiting.

The library is closed additional days during the University's Winter Break and runs on limited hours when classes are not in session.
