Special Collections Hours
Notice: Closed Collection Limited Hours, July 7-11, 2008
The Closed Collection (Manuscripts, Archives, and Rare Books) will be available only by appointment Monday, July 7 - Friday, July 11 due to limited staffing. All appointments must be made in advance during the week of June 30 - July 3. Please contact the Dougherty Reading Room at 828-262-7974 or spcoll@appstate.edu to make an appointment for research.
Open Stacks Hours during Normal School Operation
Please check the calendar for a complete listing of hours and confirm the hours before visiting. In general, Special Collections hours are:
Monday-Thursday: 8 am to 10 pm
Friday: 8 am to 6 pm
Saturday: 10 am to 8 pm
Sunday: 1 pm to 10 pm
Note: Full-time employees are available to assist patrons from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Student assistants staff the Open Stacks during the remaining hours.
Closed Collection Hours

The Closed Collection is available for use by appointment, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm, except University holidays. While Special Collections staff will make every effort to be available for appointments during these hours, please note that due to limited staffing there may be instances when we are unable to accommodate appointments during these times. The library is closed additional days during the University's Winter Break and runs on limited hours when classes are not in session.
