Discuss Research Strategies

Special Collections staff can meet with you to discuss research strategies pertaining to a specific project. Four days advance notice is required for topics using items from the Closed Collection. Appointments can last up to 30 minutes. This service is open to all researchers, with priority attention given to ASU students and faculty. Make an Appointment to Use the Closed Collection (Archives, Manuscripts, Rare Books)

The Closed Collection is available Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., by appointment. Please contact Greta Browning at 828-262-7974 or browningge@appstate.edu to schedule an appointment.  No appointment is necessary to use the Open Stacks. Please check our Hours page for any changes to regular hours.

Schedule Class Instruction Sessions

Sessions are available for undergraduate and graduate courses and can be tailored to meet the needs of the instructor. Please give at least 3 weeks advance notice to avoid scheduling conflicts and to allow us time to prepare. Use Audiovisual Viewing and Listening Room

The Viewing and Listening Room in the Cratis Williams Reading Room is available on a first-come, first-served basis for individuals or small groups who need to use Library-Use Only audio or video media from Special Collections. This room cannot be scheduled for classes or used for group study.
