Creative Gifts and Scholarships
Some of the special funds in place or proposed which welcome private support include:

Library Art Collection
An Art Acquisition Fund to allow the Library to purchase work for display in public areas. -
Student Scholarships
Belk Library relies on more than 130 students each semester to perform vital tasks, including patron assistance, circulation and reference desk support, shelving, materials processing, technical support, and office duties. -
Essential Literature Fund
This fund would be used to replace some of our most well-loved works of literature which have deteriorated through frequent use. -
Making a Bequest
Bequests of all sizes play an important role in the growth and success of the Appalachian State University Library.

Gifts of Collections
Library collections grow in two ways—purchases and gifts. The University Library receives support from faculty, bibliophiles, collectors, and other benefactors who wish to donate their collections. Our special collections cover a fascinating array of subjects, such as classical and world music scores, richly illustrated children’s books, Appalachian regional history, stock car racing, and rare 14th century English volumes.
