Feb 19 - Downton Abbey Open House This Wednesday

Highclere Castle

On Wednesday, February 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Special Collections in Belk Library and Information Commons will be hosting “A Downton Afternoon,” a Downton Abbey-themed open house in the Rhinehart Rare Books and Special Collections Room on the 4th Floor.

In the hit BBC and PBS series Downton Abbey, the library is a common backdrop, yet few people know that we have a similar library in Belk Library. The Rhinehart Rare Books and Special Collections Room was designed in the style of an English country library.

Attendees will have a chance to see the Rhinehart Room and its British studies rare book collection, and enjoy a Downton Abbey-themed afternoon.  All are invited.  Costumes are optional.
