Ever wanted to create a 3D model? Get it printed? Maybe you are interested in creating something electronic? Come to the Belk Library's free technology workshops in the Belk Library Makerspace. Workshops are open to all students, faculty and staff. No experience necessary! More information about these technologies here: guides.library.appstate.edu/makerspace
3D Printing - Learn the ins and outs of 3D printing. If you ever wanted to get a model printed, this is the workshop for you. Taking this workshop will also make you eligible for free 3D printing!
3D Design - Create your own 3D models in Tinkercad in this workshop. We will go over how to use the program as well as some of the alternatives that you can use in our Digital Media Studio.
Arduino - If you were curious about the basics of electronics, this workshop will provide the basics of arduino and help you get started creating your own projects.
e-Textiles I - Learn a combination of circuitry and sewing in this interactive workshop which puts LED lights on your clothes. Each participant will learn the basics of wearable electronics and take home a packet of materials including a circuit board and conductive thread. This workshop has limited supplies, so sign up right away if you want to participate. https://e-textiles1.eventbrite.com
e-Textiles II - Already know how to create a circuit? Take this workshop to learn how to code your e-textiles project. We will be using LEDs and the LilyPad Arduino board to program our clothing. No coding experience necessary, although it is highly recommended that you take e-textiles I first. If you are unable to take e-textiles I but would like the information, contact Hannah Pope at firstname.lastname@example.org. Sign up for the workshop here: https://e-textiles2.eventbrite.com.
