Alana

Alana

My name is Alana Patterson and I am a sophomore chemistry major. I am a local from Boone, NC and grew up going to the library after school. So, I guess it can be said that the Belk Library and Information Commons is well a part of my childhood. Spending so much time in the library exposed me to many great books that the library has to offer.  My favorite book that I have read is the novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. I love to read this book with a cup of coffee from the Wired Scholar sitting in my favorite place in the library. My favorite place to be in the library is sitting in the sofa chairs on the fourth floor of the library because it is quiet enough for studying but also more comfortable than sitting at a desk.

As an ambassador, I hope to help students realize that the library is more than just a place to get books for class. The library is a place of resource that will equip a person with knowledge that will carry throughout life.
