Delivery of Library Materials to Faculty Departments
The Library offers faculty the option of having library materials delivered to their departmental mailbox area. To be eligible, you must have a status of "faculty" in the Library's patron database. Below are the overall guidelines for this service:
Requesting Materials:
- For items owned within the network (ASU, UNCA, WCU), use ABC Request, selecting "Deliver to me at ASU FACULTY DEPT"
- For Interlibrary Loan materials, use ILLiad, updating your user information by setting Preferred Loan Delivery Method to "Deliver to Faculty Dept."
Delivery of Materials
- Items will be delivered to a library-provided crate in your department's mailbox area.
- Deliveries of items will be made within 48 weekday (Monday through Friday) hours of receipt of request. The request file is downloaded on the following schedule:
- Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays - 8:00 am, Noon, and 2:00 pm
- Tuesdays, Thursdays - 8:00 am, Noon, and 4:00 pm
- For items from other libraries (UNCA, WCU, or other ILL material), delivery will be within 48 weekday hours of receipt of item in the Library.
- If you choose departmental delivery, you are agreeing to have the item checked out to you before it leaves the building and without the presentation of your ID.
- This service is NOT available during University holidays, breaks and intersessions.
NOTE: Every attempt will be made to deliver to the mailroom/faculty office. Office Deliveries will be attempted between the hours of 8 am and 2 pm. If the mailroom/departmental office is locked, every attempt will be made to delivery directly to the faculty office. After two attempts are made, the material will be placed on hold for seven days and will be available for retrieval at the Circulation Desk
