Library Tours for Community Groups

Library tours for groups external to the University are guided, general overviews of the services, facilities, and resources available through the University Libraries.

General tours

External groups may request library tours by contacting Ken Johnson, Coordinator of Access & Public Services. 

  • External groups must be accompanied by either a librarian or teacher and have one chaperone for every ten students.
  • External groups must provide a minimum of two weeks prior notice.

Library Orientations for App State Groups

Library orientations are activities that provide a general overview for internal groups as to the services, facilities, and resources available through the Appalachian State University Libraries. Library orientations are available to student groups, faculty groups, and staff groups.

For classes

Professors and instructors who wish for an orientation or other library instructional service should work directly with their assigned liaison librarian for this type of request. Review the Library Instruction Programs page for more information.

General orientations for campus groups

Internal groups, such as student organizations, may request library orientations by contacting Ken Johnson, Coordinator of Access & Public Services.
